Collaborating with the Paley Center’s education staff (and fellow vampire enthusiasts), we created a weekend-long celebration of all things vampire in the media, designed to coincide with the release of New Moon. This multi-faceted event featured a panel/debate with fans of the most prominent and beloved vampire properties, a trivia competition, a gallery exhibit featuring EW‘s finest vampire coverage, several days of screenings, and an online poll designed to determine America’s favorite vamp.
To spice up the tired panel discussion format, we structured the conversation as a debate. Each participant acted as an advocate for their very TV or movie franchise. We also encouraged audience members to sit with their fellow fans (Buffy fans in Sunnydale, True Blood fans in Bon Temps, etc.)
Each audience member walked away with a gift bag full of vamp goodies: a True Blood dvd set and a bottle of the Tru Blood drink, candy fangs, and more.
